The FSA conducted a Structured Products Review that included the major providers of structured investment products –both capital-at-risk and non-capital-at-risk – and structured deposit products between November 2010 and May 2011. Following this review, the FSA published “Proposed Guidance for Consultation” on Structured Products on November 3, 2011. Link
The aim is to decrease the risk to consumers who invest in structured products. The consultation sets out guidance to firms in the design of structured products, the pre-testing and approval process of new products, and the post-sale monitoring of the products throughout their life cycle.
